by R.R. Harper
Genres: Children, Fantasy, Myths & Legends
When seventeen-year-old Kel discovered that dragons had returned to Narow, he thought his dreams of gold and importance had come true. The circumstances of his discovery resulted in his developing tremendous magical power. Kel’s power placed him at the center of the battle for control of Narow.
Kada, like every Follower of Washaii, dreamt of dragons returning to Narow and bringing magic with them. Kada’s desire to rule Narow separated him from other Followers. He used his dragon lore expertise and position as a senior Follower to help accomplish his goal. Kada would do whatever he needed in order to rule.
When Kada saw Kel’s power, he knew he needed to do more than just control magic. He had to control Kel and his connection with dragons.
The Chosen of Washaii, a centuries old secret organization, were dedicated to preventing the corruption of Washaii's plan. Washaii gave them unlimited wealth and tasked them to ensure the Chosen were the only wielders of magic when dragons returned.
The Chosen viewed Kada as the very corruption they were supposed to prevent. Failing in their mission, they were running out of options.
