Third Witch’s the Charm is the third installment in the Crooked Windows Inn Cozy Witch Mystery series by Valia Lind.
The protagonist, Cassie, finally goes on vacation with her friend. But a strange ghost man keeps coming to her for help before abruptly disappearing. Then he’s found dead in the pool at the vacation resort.
I enjoyed the setting of this one, and I still enjoyed the characters. Cassie’s relationship with the cat is fun, and it was certainly interesting to follow them through solving the case, but the book is under 200 pages. I felt like more could have happened.
One gimmick of this series is that they’re fast-paced cozy mysteries, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But for this particular novel, I felt like things happened too fast for the sake of moving the book along.
Overall, the writing and plot are well-done. However, this is it if you’re looking for a quick and simple read.
